About Us

Who We Are

Our Story

MedicGuild is a community of creators and curators which build conversations and resources by and for medical students and doctors. We want to demystify the medical journey and help you achieve your goals.

We started this project after realising the extent to which confusion and anxiety can characterise a medical career. We found that these anxieties weren’t restricted to medical students but are common among junior doctors and trainees. We wanted to develop a community based on the serendipitous moments where senior colleagues share their experiences, insight, and mentorship that clears the path. We thought these moments in isolation were too rare.

Why not curate the collective knowledge of our peers and seniors in one forum - from the medical community for the medical community - clearing the path for all? The precious time searching for a golden ticket to a trainee position, a research mentor, or an OSCE practice guide could be invested in becoming a better doctor.

Our team of writers aim to provide you with original and relevant research, informed by experienced doctors and stripped of pretence, to help you make the decisions that are best for you.

Whether it's entering med school without a degree in biological sciences, preparing for the first ward round of your clinical years, stepping into your first overnight as an intern or considering how to play to your strengths for competitive specialty training positions or planning your life outside of medicine, MedicGuild provides clarity, opportunity, and the confidence that comes with knowledge.

 

We Acknowledge that this work is taking place on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin nation. We recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community and pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
