Within a matter of weeks, Australia has gone from having one of the lowest rates of new Covid-19 infections per capita, to one of the highest in the world. We speak with Richard Denniss, the chief economist at The Australia Institute on how we got here and how we can get out of this crisis.

We have to abandon this idea that there's a trade off between what's good for our health and what's good for the economy. Australia provides a stark example of if we look after people's health, it's good for the economy.
